KPV (Lysine-Proline-Valine) is the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-MSH that retains the parent peptide’s anti-inflammatory signaling properties. It interacts with melanocortin receptors, particularly MC1R and MC3R, and has been studied in preclinical research models for its capacity to downregulate pro-inflammatory cytokine expression including TNF-alpha, IL-6, and IL-1beta via NF-kB pathway modulation.
