Description
Selank (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) is a synthetic heptapeptide developed as a stabilized analogue of the immunomodulatory tetrapeptide tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg). Preclinical studies, particularly those conducted in rodent anxiety and stress models, have characterized Selank’s interaction with the GABAergic system, including modulation of benzodiazepine receptor-associated complexes and enhancement of hippocampal BDNF mRNA expression. It has also been studied in the context of monoaminergic neurotransmitter regulation, with reported effects on serotonin metabolism and enkephalin degradation rates in CNS tissue preparations, making it a useful research probe for studying the molecular basis of anxiolytic signaling pathways.
Dorado Research provides Selank as a lyophilized peptide of high analytical purity, verified by RP-HPLC and confirmed by LC-MS. The compound reconstitutes readily in sterile physiological buffer and is suitable for use in receptor binding assays, in vitro neuronal cultures, and ex vivo CNS tissue studies. It is supplied exclusively as a qualified laboratory reference material for scientific research purposes. For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
